Thermal batteries are frozen at depots, often in existing freezers to the required temperatures. Using renewable energy to freeze the thermal batteries reduces emissions by 100%. Using standard grid energy supply reduces emissions by 76%.
CoolRun pods are loaded in two simple steps. First, thermal batteries are taken from the freezer and inserted into the the pod. These batteries store the cooling energy needed for transit. Next, chilled or frozen food is loaded directly into the pod, picked to customer orders.
